With our expertise and advanced technology, CTI coldstore is equipped to handle the cold storage requirements of various chilled products. Our facility maintains precise temperatures in separate chilled chambers, tailored to meet the unique demands of each product type. Our mission is to deliver high quality services ensuring the quality, safety, and availability of fresh produce throughout the supply chain. LOCATION
The CTI Coldstore is located in City Deep, Johannesburg.
- 1,4 km from the City Deep Rail terminal (4min drive)
- All container depots are within 10min travel time from the facility. This will greatly improve turnaround times for container collections (previous travel time was 2hr – 2.5hr per round trip).
8000 PALLET SPACE
4000 will be available for the 2024 season, and the full 8000 pallet spaces will be available for the 2025 season.
BETTER FRUIT QUALITY
- Fruit is offloaded into an airlock dispatch area kept at 6 degrees.
- CTI ensures minimum handling of pallets.
- Better Fruit Quiality, due to less travel time in a tautliner, and fruit enters cold chain earlier, will no standing time in DBN heat.
Rail, Container & Regrigerated Transport
Leave all your container transport needs to us and relax, as we handle the logistics for you.
From coordinating container movements to and from the port, CTI ensures a seamless process for our clients.
We deliver containers to the port for stack dates and collect them to be transported to CTI Cold Store, ensuring efficient and timely handling of your goods. By entrusting us with your container transport needs, you can enhance planning and improve truck turnaround times.
RAIL TRANSPORT
Available from Johannesburg Rail Terminal direct to Durban stacks, containers are plugged in for the entire trip from CTI cold store to Durban.
TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS
- Soft citrus can be delivered to Johannesburg by tautliner, eliminating the need for refrigerated trucks, resulting in significant transport cost saving.
- Able to deliver to multiple ports out of Johannesburg (Maputo, Ngqua, Cape Town) in the event of issues in DBN.
- Shorter distance travellling time from packhouse to cold storage.
- Better Truck availability, as more tansporters want to come to Johannesburg.
- The cost of tautliners do not significantly increase throughout the season.
